Technology plays a vital role in education in the 21st Century, and Elgin Local Schools has a long history of being at the forefront of educational technology. Elgin Local Schools is a completely 1-to-1 ChromeBook district for grades Kindergarten through 12th. By doing this, it is the goal of Elgin Local Schools to create an environment that will enable and support students and teachers to implement transformative uses of technology while enhancing students' engagement with content and promoting the development of self-directed and lifelong learners. Students will transition from consumers of information to creative producers and owners of knowledge.
