Elgin Middle School
Hello Comet Families!
Thank you all for a great start to the school year. Our students are adjusting very well to our new bell schedule (8 period day) and lunch layout (all 3 grades together). 6th grade students are learning how to use their lockers as well. All of our students have their Chromebooks set up and we are off and rolling in our classes. Our fall sports/activities are underway too!
A few reminders for you and your youngsters:
Remember to charge Chromebooks each night. New this year, when a student comes to school with their Chormebook not charged, they may be assigned a detention following the 3rd offense.
If you receive a text or email stating your student is on the ICU List, it is because they are missing an assignment or other school work for a particular teacher. This is a reminder/notification for you to help us reach our goal: EVERY STUDENT TO COMPLETE EVERY ASSIGNMENT.
Lastly, please refer to the Elgin Website (Student Resources) to review the student handbook to ensure your student(s) follows the dress code and understands the attendance policy - especially with regards to vacations and excused/unexcused absences.
This has been a wonderful start to the school year! As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or comments, never hesitate to call the office at (740) 223-4300 or email Mr. Purtee directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Have a great week!
