Elgin Middle School

Back-to-School Information 2017-2018

 

The start of the school year will be here soon!  We will welcome students back on Monday, August 21.  School will start at 7:35 AM and dismissal will be at 2:30 PM.

 

The Comet Preview schedule for students to pick up schedules and Chromebooks are listed below.  6th Grade students can pick up their schedules and Chromebooks on Tuesday, August 15th from 9-12 or 1-3p.  7th and 8th grade students can pick up their schedules and Chromebooks on Wednesday, August 16th from 9-12 or 1-3p. If these dates and times are not convenient, any student in grades 6-8 can come in on Wednesday, August 16th from 5-7p. All Chromebook & schedule distribution will take place in the Media Center.  If these dates or times do not fit into your family schedule, students can pick up their schedules and Chromebooks on the first day of school. 

 

All students at Elgin Middle School will be assigned a Chromebook and have the ability to take their device home with them. Students will be provided a bag and a charger.  Please stress the importance of bringing a charged Chromebook to school every day.  Students will be responsible for the care and management of these computers.

  • Student schedules, Chromebook & locker information will be distributed during these times.
  • Students can tour the building to locate classrooms.
  • Staff will be available for any questions.
  • Schedules will be available on PowerSchool August 4th.
  • If you are not able to attend the Comet Preview, students can pick up their schedules and Chromebooks on the first day of school.

 

New Immunization Guidelines

All incoming 7th grade students must now have these two (2) immunizations before entry to school:

  1. Tdap
  2. MCV4 (Meningococcal)
