High School Principal

Elgin High School Students and Families,

Elgin High School has had a fantastic start to the 2017-18 school year.  It is hard to believe that we are into the second nine weeks and moving closer to the holiday season.  This time of year brings many important topics and dates that I would like to make you aware of as we move closer to the end of the first semester.

Student Led conferences were a huge success in the high school.  High schools traditionally have less participation in Parent Teacher Conferences.  Elgin High School wanted to find a way to make this more of a priority due to the importance of communication between students, parents and teachers.  Student Led Conferences were implemented to make this happen. Elgin High School had an attendance rate of 85% for our entire student body!

As we move forward into the second half of the school year, our focus continues to be on the students. Our students will be under the new Ohio Graduation Requirements.  Students must accumulate a certain number of “POINTS” along with credit requirements to graduate from high school. This is an enormous change to the education of our students and we are progressing to put all of Elgin High School Students in the best situation to help them be successful, both meeting these new requirements and also preparing them for their futures!  Please see the Important Dates for more information.

Our Juniors are planning for their final year of high school and our Seniors are in the process of finalizing plans for graduation!  It is exciting to watch as the students grow and mature in their preparation for the next steps of their lives and prepare for their futures!

The following are a number of important sites to assist both students and families for graduation requirements, testing and other educational information.
