Elgin High School Students and Families,

Elgin High School is now into the 2019 year with many items on the agenda moving forward.  It is hard to believe that we are about to end the second nine weeks and complete semester exams.  This time of year brings many important topics and dates that I would like to make you aware of as we move throughout the school year and begin the second semester.

As we move forward into the second half of the school year, our focus continues to be on the students. Our students will continue to prepare for the End of Course Assessments that begins in April.  Students must accumulate a certain number of “POINTS” along with credit requirements to graduate from high school.  The State of Ohio has also provided alternate pathways for students to meet and still receive a high school diploma.  Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Important Dates for more information.

Our Juniors are planning for their final year of high school and our Seniors are in the process of finalizing plans for graduation!  It is exciting to watch as the students grow and mature in their preparation for the next steps of their lives and prepare for their futures!

The following are a number of important sites to assist both students and families for graduation requirements, testing and other educational information.

Frequently asked questions for Graduation:

Graduation Requirements -  This is very important to review as the State of Ohio has added additional pathways for students to meet that will allow them to graduate.  No longer is the sole pathway to earning a diploma based on end of course assessments, receiving a remediation free score on the ACT, or earning industry recognized credentials.  Students now have options to receive their high school diploma.
