Award Details - Two students who are in good academic standing and attending a U.S. college or university will each receive a $1,000 scholarship from SeniorHomes.com for use in paying tuition and/or books.

  • All students are eligible to apply to the scholarship, including those matriculating in Fall 2018 (current high school seniors).
  • It doesn’t require any kind of application fee and applicants' contact information will only be used to notify them in the event they are awarded the scholarship.

Posted 3/28/18: City Property Management HOA Service Scholarship -

City Property Management, a HOA Management Service in the Phoenix, AZ is pleased to offer the City Property Management HOA Service Scholarship.

The Scholarship is open nationwide to those who will be attending college during the fall semester of 2018. Special consideration will be given to an undergraduate who is interested in pursuing a career in HOA Management, but anyone meeting the requirements who can demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in the Real Estate field will be considered. This Award will be presented to current college students, but high school seniors who will be attending school in the fall semester of 2018 are also welcome to apply.

The award will be presented to a college student who is enrolled by the fall semester of 2018, but will not have graduated by fall semester of 2018 & is still attending courses at this time. This will be a one-time award.

The Scholarship will be judged primarily on merit and need. Academic achievements as well as any leadership experiences will be taken in to account.

Requirements:

  • INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
  • Applicant must plan to attend college by fall semester 2018.
  • Must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0.
  • A transcript must be attached to application for consideration.
  • Applicant must submit an un-opened copy of official transcripts if selected as a finalist.
  • This scholarship is a one-time award worth $1,000 to be awarded the fall semester of 2018.
  • Although not required, applicants are encouraged to submit recommendation letters and/or resumes to substantiate their application.
  • Applicant will be required to demonstrate both their merit and their need for this scholarship.

Posted 3/27/18: Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program - To be eligible for the Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Have completed high school (or earned high school equivalency credential) by Spring 2018.
  • Be enrolled in a 2 year or less career or technical degree/certificate program in Fall 2018 that will lead to employment.
  • Attend a not-for-profit post-secondary institution.
  • Demonstrate financial need; applicants must be Pell Grant eligible.
  • Be under the age of 30.
  • Be a United States citizen.

Posted 2/28/18: NIADA Foundation Scholarships - $3500 - 4 Awards
The NIADA Foundation promotes the academic growth of youth throughout the United States and awards scholarships annually in June at the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association Convention.

The competition for all students is judged by Northwood University who narrows the field of competitors down to four candidates, representing each of NIADA's four regions and also selects the National scholarship recipient.

The scholarship recipients' achievements, combined with their leadership and community endeavors are sure to make them an asset to any institution of higher learning.

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:

  • Be classified as a high school senior during the current 2017-2018 school year.
  • Have maintained an outstanding academic achievement record as reflected by an official high school transcript

Posted 2/28/18: Donald and Barbara Mozley Scholarship- $5000 - 7 AwardsThe Donald and Barbara Mozley Scholarship provides financial support for students pursuing an engineering degree at an ABET-accredited college or university.

  • Have financial need as determined by a completed FAFSA form.

Posted 2/28/18: FEEA Scholarships - $5000 - 400 Awards
Since 1986, FEEA has offered scholarships to more than 10,000 individuals, including providing nearly 200 scholarships to the children of federal civilian employees who died or were severely injured in the line of duty during the terrorist attacks on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, the Pentagon on 9-11, and the US Embassies and Consulates in Kenya, Tanzania, and Libya.

Collectively, our scholarship program to date totals over $14 million. FEEA champions the pursuit of higher education and each year supports hundreds of students with merit-based scholarships.

Scholarship Awards: Scholarships range between $1,000 and $5,000 for one year of academic study at an accredited college or university. The scholarship is not renewable, however, applicants may apply every year they are eligible, whether or not they have received an award in the past. The majority of scholarships are awarded for undergraduate study, with occasional awards for graduate study. Scholarship winners should refer to IRS publication 970 for more information on any potential tax implications of scholarships: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irspdf/p970.pdf.
Individuals Eligible for Scholarships:

  •  Children or legal dependents under the age of 25 of full- or part-time permanent federal civilian or postal employees. Blacks in Government (BIG) federal employee members may also sponsor a grandchild.

 

  • Children or grandchildren of members of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE). Applicants with a NARFE sponsor must be high school seniors only; undergraduate students are not eligible.

Applicants will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Applicants must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative, unweighted grade point average. Applicants with a grade point average below 3.0 are not eligible to apply.

Posted 2/21/18: Dirk Derrick Car & Truck Accident Injury Scholarship - 

The Dirk Derrick Car & Truck Accident Injury Scholarship is an award for any current or soon-to-be undergrad who has had his or her life altered due to an injury from a car or truck accident, be it their own injury, that of a loved one, or an influential individual. The Dirk Derrick Scholarship has a brief submission process, and applicants will be judged on their ability to convey the lasting effect an auto accident has had on their life as well as their journey to overcome those challenges.

Students applying must submit an essay where you explain, present, inspire, or otherwise convince us as to why you deserve to win this scholarship.There are no conditions or requirements for this essay. Please keep submissions to 5 paragraphs and 600 words at the absolute maximum. This is not a standardized test. While spelling, punctuation, and general cohesiveness will make your essay easier to read, and therefore judge, you are not being graded. The winning submission will be one which clearly conveys a non-fictional story of your life before and after an auto accident.

The purpose of the United Federal Credit Union Scholarship program is to recognize academic excellence and community support provided by our young Members. Recognizing that these individuals are the key to our future, the leadership of the credit union has established this scholarship program to demonstrate their belief in our young people’s potential. We believe that, just as we honor the legacy of our past, we also have a responsibility to invest in our future.

United Federal Credit Union will award scholarships to high school seniors who demonstrate community service and academic achievement. Six scholarships will be granted in the amount of $1,000 each.* Applicants must:

  • Be an active Member of United Federal Credit Union;
  • Be a graduating high school senior;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to community services;
  • Be accepted as an incoming freshman at an accredited college, trade school or university;
  • Achieve one of the following academic requirements:
    • A cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4-point scale) or 3.5 (on a 5-point scale)

15 scholarships are being offered to Ohio Seniors.

  • The Scholarship award amount is $4,000 per year
  • Scholarships are renewable - for a total of up to $16,000!

  • It is free to apply.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

  1. Eligibility is primarily based upon financial need.  The EFC on your FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) must be less than 7,000 to apply.
  2. Applicants must already know their career goal.
  3. Applicants must be highly motivated and have good character.
  4. Applicants must show academic promise: minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA.

Posted 1/10/18: Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE/AFSCME  Local 4/AFL-CIO) Memorial Scholarship Foundation Program - 

The OAPSE/AFSCME Memorial Scholarship Program is available to children whose parent or legal guardian is a member in good standing of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE/AFSCME Local 4/AFL-CIO). Under the program, scholarships of $2,500.00 each are awarded to at least one winner from each of the ten (10) OAPSE Districts selected from the applicants who meet the eligibility requirements.

Any graduating high school senior who is a daughter or son of an active OAPSE/AFSCME member or whose legal guardian is an active OAPSE/AFSCME member and who intends to enroll in a full-time degree program in any two (2) or four (4) year accredited university, college, business or technical school is eligible to apply for a scholarship. The scholarships may be used for any field of study.

Deadline: To be eligible, all information or supportive documentation requested in the application must be received by the committee by March 1 each year.

Posted 11/9/2017: The Engineers Foundation of Ohio (EFO) Scholarship: The Engineers Foundation of Ohio (EFO) in conjunction with the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE).  To be eligible for these scholarships, a student must meet all of the following criteria: 

  • be a graduating high school senior (exceptions noted in individual scholarship descriptions);
  • have at least a 3.0 (A=4.0) grade point average;
  • meet the minimum SAT (Math=600, Reading or Composition=500) or ACT (Math=29, English=25) test scores as set by the National Society of Professional Engineers; 
  • be a citizen of the United States and a permanent resident of the State of Ohio.

Additional criteria are specified for some scholarships. Please read each scholarship description carefully.  Our scholarship program is for graduating high school seniors who will be enrolling in an ABET (Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology) accredited college engineering program next fall. 

The application needs to be completed and either mailed or dropped off at EFO prior to the deadline specified on the application.  No emailed or faxed copies will be accepted.  The  brochure lists the criteria for our scholarships and describes which scholarships are available this year.

Posted 11/7/2017: American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC) Buckeye Chapter Scholarships: 

The ASMC Buckeye Chapter offers:  1 - $1,000 High School Scholarship, 1 - $750 High School Scholarship, 1 - $500 Community Service Scholarship. 

National ASMC offers: 1 - $3,000 High School Scholarship, 5 - $2,000 High School Scholarships, 5 - $1,000 High School Scholarships.

Our committee will evaluate all applications received and select recipients.  There is the potential for one student to earn up to $4,000 in scholarship money between our local and national organizations!  Each scholarship winner, along with two guests, will be invited to attend our April 2018 ASMC luncheon for recognition.

Requirements for Mary Ann White Community Service Scholarship Program:

·       Student must be a senior and must submit application.

·       Student must have 100 hours of Community Service over and above required for graduation, or 5 extra volunteer activities, of at least 20 hours each.

·       Student must be entering a field of study directly related to financial/resource management (such as, business administration, economics, public administration, accounting, finance).

·       The application package must include three letters of recommendation from any combination of their high school principal, academic dean, guidance counselor, volunteer organization representative, or high school teacher.

 

Requirements for High School Scholarship Program:

·       Student must be a senior and must submit application.

·       Student must be entering a field of study directly related to financial/resource management (such as, business administration, economics, public administration, accounting, or finance).

Posted 10/2/2017: ACT Student Champion AwardThe ACT Student Champion Award recognizes one student in each state who is tenacious and persistent, no matter the challenge, and is prepared for life after high school with a goal in mind and plan in place. 

ACT Student Champions receive a $500 non-renewable scholarship, certificate, plaque, and state-level recognition. 

Students in the graduating class of 2018 who have taken the ACT who fit the following criteria can apply: 

  • A student who has overcome challenges and can articulate education and career actions
  • Students must have a composite ACT score of a 22 on a single test date or a 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale
  • Preference will be given to underrepresented and/or first-generation college students.

Applications can be found at www.act.org/readinesschampions. Applications are due December 31, 2017, and champions will be notified on or before April 2, 2018. If applicants are under the age of 18, they must complete this form in addition to the application.

Posted 9/25/2017:  The Elks National Foundation Awards $2.44 million in college scholarships to a total of 500 high school seniors nationwide through its Most Valuable Student contest.

Eligibility:  High School Senior and a U. S. Citizen

Judging Criteria:  Scholarship, Leadership and Financial Need

(14 x $20,000 scholarships)
