Fall Sports Parents Meeting

There will be a mandatory meeting for all Elgin MS & HS student-athletes and their parents on Thursday, 7/31 at 7:00 PM in the Elgin Local Schools Cafetorium.  Rules, policies and procedures as well as the reduced activity fees will be discussed. 

Second Chance - Free Sports Physicals

Through Elgin Local Schools partnership with Ohio Health our extra-curricular participants have another opportunity to get their required physicals for the 14-15 school year for free.  On Monday, 7/28/14 from 6:00-8:00 PM Ohio Health is offering free physicals to students from their partnering schools at their Marion Campus.  Please click here for a detailed flyer with more information.

Activity Fees Lowered for 2014-15 School Year!

The Elgin Local Schools Board of Education voted to substantially reduce extracurricular acitivity fees at their regular meeting on June 24th.  For the 2014-15 school year, activity fees for the Elgin Local School District will be as follows:

Elgin High School Students - $50.00 per activity ($100.00 individual cap)

Elgin Middle School Students - $25.00 per activity ($50.00 individual cap)

Activity fees must be paid prior to the first contest or performance of each season.  Please make checks payable to "Elgin Local Schools", and submit to Elgin Activities Director Jason Hix.

Summer Lunches will start on June 9, 2014

Free Summer Lunches at Elgin Local Schools

  • Free to all kids 18 and younger
  • Lunches will be available Monday - Friday  closed July 4th

Immunizations - Next Year's 7th Graders

Attention parents of all current 6th grade students:

Ohio law dictates that all 2014-15 incoming 7th graders must receive a Tdap vaccination before entering school in the fall.

Please make an appointment with your health care provider soon as these slots generally fill very quickly in the late summer.

Your child will be excluded from attending school if he/she does not have this mandatory immunization.
